The Alabama Vascular Society’s Annual Meeting is open to Vascular and Endovascular Surgeons, Vascular RNs, PAs, NPs, RT, RVTs, and Vascular Trainees from Alabama and the Florida panhandle region. The meeting aims to provide attendees with the opportunity to critically assess performance of Vascular and Endovascular interventions and define the differences between the outcomes of these interventions compared with surgical procedures. It also aims to list methods for visceral revascularization and advantages and disadvantages of differing approaches, compare procedural and perioperative outcomes of aortic revascularization strategies, identify indications/contraindications and relative performance of interventions for cerebrovascular disease, evaluate the efficacy of endovascular revascularization of the lower extremity; Identify patient comorbidities that may affect outcomes in a negative manner, list methods of improving education for vascular surgery trainees and identify areas for needed improvement, list factors affecting outcomes of carotid revascularization, describe new methods of treating vascular disease including surgical, endovascular and medical therapies, and recognize important areas of basic science research currently being performed by vascular surgeons.
